Description

Bring authentic Scandinavian contrast therapy and peak athletic recovery into your home, fitness studio, or commercial retreat with The Baltic Plunge Tub by Dundalk Leisurecraft. Handcrafted in Ontario, Canada, as part of the esteemed Canadian Timber Collection, this round, upright cold therapy barrel combines timeless natural woodworking with rugged, leak-proof modern engineering. Sized with an upright 40.75" interior depth and holding up to 132 gallons (501 liters) of water, The Baltic Plunge allows for true chest- and neck-deep submersion—delivering the full hydrostatic pressure and cold-shock benefits needed to reduce muscle inflammation, boost circulation, accelerate recovery, and sharpen mental clarity.

Engineered to pair effortlessly with high-efficiency electric chillers or traditional ice therapy, the Baltic Plunge features an ultra-resilient, 3/8" thick hand-welded food-grade HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) liner surrounded by sustainably harvested Eastern White Cedar staves. Heavy-duty exterior stainless steel compression bands secure the wood cladding firmly in place while accommodating natural seasonal expansion and contraction. Arriving fully assembled right out of the crate, The Baltic Plunge is an all-season, plug-and-play cold water sanctuary built to withstand severe winter freezes and humid summer heat alike.

  • Deep Upright Full-Body Immersion: Generous 40.75" interior depth and 32" diameter enable full upright immersion up to the neck, maximizing cold therapy benefits and targeted cardiovascular response.

  • Leak-Proof 3/8" Hand-Welded HDPE Liner: Smooth, crack-resistant high-density polyethylene interior basin is 100% leak-tested before leaving the factory, resisting biofilm accumulation and simplifying wipe-down cleaning.

  • Sustainable Canadian Eastern White Cedar: Handcrafted from 100% sustainably harvested Canadian cedar sourced from certified Ontario and British Columbia mills, naturally resisting insects, moisture, rot, and fungi.

  • Dual Cold Source Versatility: Optimized for plug-and-play electric cold plunge chillers (compatible with Coldture and Penguin systems) or classic manual ice baths.

  • Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Compression Bands: Industrial exterior stainless steel bands maintain tight stave alignment throughout year-round weather shifts.

  • Zero-Assembly Convenience: Arrives fully built—no complicated frame carpentry or liner fastening required; simply position, fill with water, connect your chiller or add ice, and plunge.

  • 5-Year Manufacturer Warranty: Backed by Dundalk Leisurecraft’s 5-year limited residential warranty against craftsmanship and tub shell defects.

Shipping & Assembly

Assembly Instructions PDF

Assembly & Site Preparation

  • Fully Assembled Delivery: The Baltic Plunge arrives completely assembled from the factory. No lumber framing, banding, or liner fitting is required.

  • Level Base Requirements: Place the tub on a firm, flat, and completely level foundation capable of bearing static weight (approximately 1,250 lbs once filled with water and an occupant). Poured concrete slabs, heavy timber decking, or compacted interlock patio pavers are ideal.

  • Electrical & Water Setup: Place within reach of a garden hose for filling and draining. If operating with an optional electric chiller, ensure access to a dedicated standard 110–120V GFCI outlet. Never route power cords through pooled water.

Freight Delivery & Liftgate Details

  • Freight Packaging Profile: Shipped securely strapped to a heavy-duty transport pallet/skid.

    • Shipping Weight on Skid: 108 lbs (49 kg) (packaged weight varies depending on selected chiller/accessories)

    • Shipping Skid Footprint: 40" W x 40" L x 55" H

  • Standard Curbside Liftgate Eligible: Because the Baltic Plunge skid measures only 40" wide and long, it is well under the carrier 84-inch hydraulic tailgate limit. The commercial freight driver can lower the skid directly from the truck bed to curbside or driveway level using the hydraulic liftgate.

  • Delivery Coordination: The regional freight terminal will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment window.

  • Arrival Inspection: Thoroughly inspect exterior packaging before signing carrier documents. If punctures, crushed corners, or scuffs are visible, sign the Bill of Lading (BOL) as "Crate arrived damaged – Possible Hidden Damage" and take immediate photos before unboxing.

Care & Maintenance

Before Each Use

  • Check that the water is clean, clear, and odor-free.

  • Skim leaves, insects, and floating outdoor debris from the surface.

  • Confirm water temperature before stepping inside.

  • Ensure steps and surrounding deck surfaces are dry and free from slipping hazards.

  • If using an electric chiller, confirm that water is actively circulating and air intake/exhaust louvers are unobstructed.

  • Inspect electrical cords and GFCI connections to ensure they are dry and not sitting in water.

Day-to-Day Operation & Water Hygiene

  • Cover Protection: Always replace the plunge cover when not in use to block airborne contaminants and preserve chilled water temperatures.

  • Surface Cleaning: Wipe the cedar top edge and frequently touched rim surfaces with a soft, clean cloth.

  • Continuous Chiller Operation: Leisurecraft recommends continuous chiller circulation during normal operating conditions for steady filtration and component longevity. Position the chiller in a well-ventilated, shaded area during hot summer weather.

  • Sanitization: Follow manufacturer guidelines for approved cold plunge sanitizers or ozone/UV water treatments. Never mix incompatible pool and spa chemicals.

  • Filter Maintenance: Inspect the filter every 1–2 weeks and rinse reusable mesh pre-filters as needed. Replace filter cartridges every 1–3 months (monthly replacement recommended for heavy use).

Draining, Cleaning & Refilling Procedure

  1. Turn off and disconnect power to the chiller system.

  2. Drain water completely from the tub, hoses, and chiller lines.

  3. Remove and inspect or replace the filter cartridge.

  4. Clean the interior HDPE liner using warm water and a mild dish soap or white vinegar with a soft sponge or cloth. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or bleach.

  5. Rinse thoroughly so no soap or cleaning residue remains.

  6. Refill with fresh municipal water via a clean garden hose.

  7. Prime water lines and restart the chiller according to standard startup procedures.

(Recommended residential baseline: Complete drain, clean, and refill once per month).

Exterior Cedar Care & Freeze Protection

  • Cedar Cleaning: Wash the exterior cedar periodically using warm water and mild soap.

  • Wood Finish: Let the cedar weather naturally into an organic silver-gray patina, or apply a breathable penetrating exterior wood finish (Leisurecraft recommends and stocks Livos exterior finishes) to preserve the original warm timber tone. Never pressure-wash the cedar staves.

  • Winter & Sub-Zero Storage: Freezing water expands and will crack chillers, pumps, fittings, and internal manifolds. When temperatures approach freezing (32°F / 0°C), check your chiller model's minimum operating limits. If the plunge is not running, completely drain the tub, hoses, pump, and chiller, and store the chiller unit in a dry, heated indoor space for winter.

Materials
  • 3/8" Hand-Welded HDPE Liner: Heavy-gauge, food-grade High-Density Polyethylene interior basin. Non-porous, UV-stable, and chemically inert, it will not rot, crack, chip, blister, or harbor bacterial biofilm.

  • 100% Certified Canadian Eastern White Cedar: Sourced sustainably from certified lumber mills in Ontario and British Columbia. Naturally rich in organic cedar resins and thujaplicins that repel rot, decay, and wood-boring insects without toxic chemical treatments.

  • Marine-Grade Stainless Steel Compression Bands: Heavy-duty external banding engineered with corrosion-resistant stainless steel to secure structural stave alignment throughout freeze-thaw and wet-dry cycles.

  • Brass & Industrial Plumbing Couplers: Commercial-grade, leak-proof pass-through ports and threaded fittings designed for rapid plug-and-play chiller and hose connections.

  • Authorized Factory Returns: Any return explicitly authorized for factory return is subject to:

    • A 20% restocking fee deducted from the refund.

    • The customer is responsible for 100% of return freight shipping and transit fees back to the manufacturing facility.

    • All items must arrive completely unused, unaltered, and packed securely in their original packaging and crate.

    • Leisurecraft performs a final inspection upon arrival; the refund amount is determined at Leisurecraft's sole discretion based on product condition.

  • Parts Replacement Only: Warranty coverage is strictly limited to the supply of replacement parts at no cost; installation, labor, removal, and technician fees are expressly excluded.

  • Electrician Requirement: All electrical connections (heaters, controls, chillers) must be completed by a licensed electrician; failure to provide proof of licensed installation voids electrical warranty coverage.

Leisurecraft Shipping Policy

Shipping Rates & Service Areas

  • Contiguous United States: Free standard freight shipping is available for eligible saunas (minimum order $3,500) and outdoor furniture (minimum order $2,000).

  • Small Items & Accessories: Standalone accessory orders carry a flat shipping rate of $55.

  • Alaska, Hawaii & Remote Locations: Shipping is not covered under standard free freight; custom freight quotes are required prior to dispatch. Remote regions, limited-access routes, and island deliveries may incur additional carrier surcharges.

  • Cross-Border Clearance: Shipments originating from Canadian manufacturing facilities include all standard customs clearance and border handling.

Freight Delivery & Curbside Details

  • Curbside Delivery Only: Freight shipments are delivered strictly to the curbside or the end of your driveway via standard commercial freight carriers (typically 53-foot 18-wheel tractor-trailers). Drivers do not bring crates into driveways, backyards, or homes, nor do they assist with unpackaging or assembly.

  • Site Accessibility: Customers must verify that a full-sized 18-wheel semi-truck can legally and safely access the street, reach the property, and turn around.

  • Delivery Appointments: The freight carrier contacts the consignee prior to delivery to schedule an appointment window. A timely response is mandatory to prevent carrier holding penalties.

  • Delivery Delays & Storage Fees: If delivery is delayed due to an unresponsive recipient, inability to unload, or scheduling conflicts, terminal storage charges of $35 per day will be assessed and billed to the customer.

Unloading Responsibilities & Liftgate Policy

  • Crates 84 Inches or Shorter: Liftgate service is generally available to lower the crate from the truck bed to curbside level.

  • Crates Exceeding 84 Inches: Standard liftgates cannot accommodate crates over 7 feet long. Customers are solely responsible for offloading the crate from the truck bed.

  • Required Offloading Arrangements: For oversized crates, the customer must arrange one of the following prior to delivery:

    • A forklift or mechanical loader equipped with forklift fork extensions, lifting strictly from the crate end.

    • A local tilt flatbed tow-truck service to transfer the crate from the carrier's regional freight terminal to your driveway. (Factory-assisted tilt tow-truck arrangements incur a standard $1,450 fee).

    • A capable crew on-site to de-crate or lift components individually from the truck bed within the carrier’s allotted delivery window.

Delivery Address Changes

  • Prior to Dispatch: Address adjustments submitted before an order leaves the manufacturing facility are processed at no additional cost.

  • After Dispatch / In-Transit: Rerouting or altering the destination address once the crate has left the factory incurs a mandatory $350 carrier rerouting fee.

Damage, Shortages & Freight Return Protocol

  • Crate Inspection at Curbside: All packaging must be thoroughly inspected before signing carrier paperwork.

  • Visible Damage on Arrival: If external damage, crushed corners, or open packaging is observed, you must accept the delivery and write:

"Crate arrived open/damaged – Possible Hidden Damage" clearly on the driver’s Bill of Lading (BOL).

  • Reporting Window: Detailed photos of the packaging, labels, and all damaged parts must be submitted to customer support within 30 days of receipt to qualify for no-charge component replacements under the shipping warranty.

  • Unauthorized Refusals: Deliveries refused without written authorization will be classified as a rejected delivery. Refused shipments are subject to a 15% restocking fee plus all applicable return freight, storage, and reconsignment costs.
