Assembly Guidelines

• Pre-Fabricated Kit Assembly: Designed with precision-beveled interlocking cedar staves, pre-assembled front and back circular wall panels, solid cedar support cradles, and pre-hung 5 mm bronze glass door assemblies.

• Crew & Tools: Straightforward assembly requires 2 capable adults. Standard household tools needed include a cordless drill, level, rubber mallet, adjustable wrench/ratchet set, and a stepladder.

• Foundation Requirements: Must be positioned on a firm, flat, level foundation capable of supporting over 2,000 lbs (poured concrete pad, heavy timber patio deck, or leveled interlock pavers). Solid cedar support cradles elevate the barrel body off the ground to ensure clear under-body drainage.

Freight Delivery & Packaging

• Protective Crate Packaging: Shipped fully strapped in a weather-resistant, reinforced timber transport crate.

• Standard Curbside Liftgate Delivery: Because the Harmony crate length measures exactly 84", it qualifies for carrier hydraulic liftgate service, allowing the driver to lower the crate directly from the trailer bed to your curbside or driveway access point.

• Freight Scheduling: The carrier terminal will phone you in advance to coordinate a mandatory 4-hour delivery appointment window.

• Delivery Inspection: Inspect all external packaging prior to signing carrier documents. If crate scuffs, punctures, or open wrap are present, write "Crate arrived damaged – Possible Hidden Damage" directly on the driver’s Bill of Lading (BOL) and snap photos.

Day-to-Day Operation & Hygiene

• Pre-Session Check: Confirm air intake and exhaust vents remain completely unobstructed. Inspect sauna stones to ensure proper rock airflow and check that the firebox/heater is clear of towels or debris.

• Towel Usage: Always sit and place feet on clean towels on the cedar benches to absorb perspiration and protect the raw wood from skin oils.

• Post-Session Ventilation: Keep the sauna door propped open for 15 to 30 minutes following every session to evacuate moisture and let fresh air dry the interior.

• Wipe Down: Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to wipe away residual moisture from bench surfaces, backrests, and glass. Never leave wet towels or standing water inside.

Regular Cleaning & Cedar Care

• Periodic Wash: Clean benches and high-contact areas periodically using warm water and a mild non-toxic soap with a soft bristle brush or microfiber cloth; rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely with the door open.

• Light Sanding: For minor surface marks, water spots, or sweat stains, lightly buff the area using fine-grit sandpaper, always rubbing parallel to the wood grain.

• Interior Wood Finish: The interior cedar is left completely natural and unfinished. Never apply paint, varnish, polyurethane, or standard exterior stains inside the sauna. If wood conditioning is desired, apply only breathable, non-toxic sauna oil (such as Livos Saunaoil).

• Exterior Wood Treatment: Exterior cedar can be left unfinished to weather naturally into an organic silver-gray patina, or sealed with a high-quality UV-blocking penetrating exterior wood stain to preserve the natural honey-amber cedar tone.

Hardware, Barrel Bands & Winter Care

• Barrel Band Tension: Cedar expands in wet weather and contracts during dry heat. Check the T6061 aluminum compression bands after the first 30 days and tighten or loosen slightly using a wrench to keep staves securely seated without over-compressing.

• Winter Weather: Canadian Timber saunas are engineered for sub-zero winter performance. Periodically sweep excessive, heavy snow accumulation off the roof curve and ensure low ventilation intake grates are not blocked by snowdrifts. Never use metal scrapers on cedar surfaces.

• What to Avoid: Never use bleach, chlorine, ammonia, or high-pressure washers on cedar wood, and avoid over-tightening barrel bands.

• Eastern White Cedar Framing: Handcrafted exclusively from sustainable Grade-A Eastern White Cedar sourced from certified mills in Ontario and British Columbia. The light, knotty timber provides exceptional dimensional stability, high R-value thermal insulation, and natural defense against rot, decay, and insects.

• Solid Single-Stave Bevel Profiles: Full-length milled cedar staves fit together seamlessly without weak end-grain finger joints or tenons along their body, delivering an airtight joint seal that withstands extreme weather variations.
