The Homecraft Apex Electric Sauna Heater is an advanced, high-capacity rock tower engineered to deliver commercial-grade thermal efficiency and massive steam production. Handcrafted in Canada by sauna enthusiasts for sauna enthusiasts, the Apex focuses on maximizing radiant heat transfer directly into the sauna's rock mass while providing dedicated protection for the heating elements. Designed as an expansive floor-standing pillar holding a massive 310 lbs of rocks, the Apex acts as a powerful thermal battery that produces continuous, enveloping Finnish löyly with even heat distribution across every bench level.
At the core of the Apex's engineering is a specialized Protected Element Air Chamber. This interior air channel shields the heating elements from direct water pour-offs and physical rock weight, promoting accelerated natural airflow convection throughout the room while maximizing element longevity. Fabricated from premium stainless steel components and certified to rigorous CSA and UL safety standards, the Homecraft Apex is designed for expansive residential and commercial saunas requiring serious, dependable heating power.
Important Shipping Notice: When purchased together with any Dundalk Leisurecraft sauna cabin or barrel, this heater ships free inside the sauna's primary freight crate. If this heater is purchased singularly as an individual standalone unit without a sauna, a flat $350 freight shipping fee will be applied at checkout to cover dedicated carrier handling and cross-border transport.

Stone Washing & Initial Loading: Thoroughly rinse all sauna stones with clean water before loading to remove fine mineral dust. Place larger stones loosely around the bottom and outside of the air chamber, layering medium-to-smaller stones toward the top. Never wedge stones tightly inside the Protected Element Air Chamber or between heating elements, as airflow must circulate freely to prevent element burnout.
-
Annual Stone Rotation & Inspection: At least once per year (or every 100 hours of commercial/heavy use), remove all 310 lbs of stones from the tower. Inspect for crumbling, fractured, or weathered rocks, vacuum mineral debris and sediment from the lower tray, and repack using fresh stones to maintain unimpeded convective airflow.
-
Water & Löyly Application: Use a wooden sauna ladle to gently pour fresh, clean tap water directly over the hot stones. Never use chlorinated pool water, salt water, or unrefined aromatic oils poured directly on dry elements, as chemical corrosion voids element protection.
-
Exterior Casing Wipe-Down: Allow the heater and stone mass to cool completely before cleaning. Wipe down exterior stainless steel surfaces using a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild liquid dish soap. Do not use steel wool, wire brushes, or abrasive chemical cleaners.
-
Session Safety Inspection: Before turning on the heater, always verify that the top rock grill and perimeter are completely clear of combustible materials such as towels, garments, wooden buckets, or brushes.
-
Warranty Coverage: The Homecraft Apex Electric Sauna Heater includes a 3-year limited residential warranty matching Leisurecraft supplier terms (covering structural fabrication and manufacturer defects under normal residential conditions).
-
Warranty Exclusions: Heating elements, internal electrical contactors, consumable wear parts, and sauna stones are excluded from standard warranty coverage. Discoloration resulting from harsh water chemicals or mineral deposits is not covered.
-
Licensed Electrician Requirement: All 240V electrical supply wiring and panel hookups must be performed by a licensed, certified electrical contractor. Proof of certified electrical installation is strictly required to file any warranty or replacement claim.
-
Order Modifications & Cancellations: Orders canceled or modified within 14 days of placement are processed free of charge. Cancellations submitted after 14 days or once the unit enters packaging and carrier dispatch are subject to a $350 administrative/order adjustment fee.
-
Return Policy: Due to freight logistics, carrier handling, and cross-border transport costs, freight units are generally non-returnable. If an authorized return is approved in writing by the manufacturer, the customer is responsible for 100% of return freight shipping charges back to the facility plus a 20% restocking fee. Units must be returned completely uninstalled, unused, and in their original packaging.
-
Transit Damage Protocol: Thoroughly inspect the crate and packaging upon delivery. Note any visible packaging damage or carton punctures on the delivery Bill of Lading (BOL) and report damaged or missing parts within 30 days of receipt to receive complimentary replacement components.
-
